LE REPERTOIRE DE LES PERCUSSIONS DE STRASBOURG

Students will work on the repertoire of Les Percussions de Strasbourg which will be performed in the final concert on September 4th.

Course times: every day 9.30 - 12.30 / 15.00 - 17.00

Type of lessons: group lessons

Minimum enrollment limit to activate the course: 6 students.

The figure of the auditor is not foreseen.

The organization reserves the right to occupy a secretary request, to be assigned at the end of the course and at the discretion of the prosessors.

CHRISTIAN HAMOUY, Knight of the Order of Cultural Merit of Monaco, was born on August 27, 1955 in Angoulême (France). In 1970 he obtained the first prize for piano and music theory from the Conservatoire National de Région de Bordeaux and in 1976 the first prize for Percussion from the Conservatoire National de Région de Boulogne in the class of Michel CALS. For 7 years, he participated in the concerts of the Bordeaux-Aquitaine Orchestra as a pianist and as a percussionist. He founded all of the Young Soloists of Aquitaine and the percussion group: PERCUSSIS. Soloist at the PERCUSSIONS OF STRASBOURG from 1983 to 1996, he became Music Director. Passionate about the creation and work of today’s composers, he created the TETRA quartet (2 pianos, 2 percussions) and simultaneously performed a duet with accordionist P. CONTET. Among his solo performances, he collaborates with the Ensemble Instrumental et Vocal MUSICATREIZE, conducted by R. HAYRABEDIAN since 1983. His discography is currently composed of 30 tracks from very different backgrounds, because Christian HAMOUY is in love with all music. Very attracted by pedagogy, he obtained the Certificate of Aptitude and teaches PERCUSTRA pedagogy in France and abroad. He taught for 9 years alongside F. DUPIN then G. VAN GUCHT at the National Superior Music Conservatory of Lyon. He leads Masters-Class in France and abroad and is a member of national and international juries. Christian HAMOUY is also a composer (works for percussion, choir, cello, harp, flute, etc.) and he directs the collection "percussion pleasure" published by FRANCOIS DHALMANN Christian HAMOUY is currently a professor at the Prince Rainier III Foundation Academy of Music and Theater in Monaco.

JONATHAN FARALLI 
He studied percussion and composition with Renzo Stefani and Gaetano Giani-Luporini at the Luigi Cherubini State Conservatory in Florence, where he graduated with the highest honors. Alongside these studies, he also took lessons from David Lee Searcy and Christoph Caskel, who teaches at the Cologne Hochschule and is the percussionist preferred by Karlheinz Stockhausen for the first performances of his works. Faralli then went on to perfect his training at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam with Peter Prommel (marimbaphone), Jan Pustjens (drums) and Jean Labordius (timpani); he later also studied under Christian Hamouy and Gabriel Bouchet at the school of "Les Percussions de Strasbourg". Faralli performs both as a soloist and in chamber ensembles, and has given many world premieres of percussion works by contemporary composers. He regularly works with "Les Percussions de Strasbourg", "Contempoartensemble", "European Music Project", "Modern Times Duo" and "Moscow Virtuosi". He has performed under the most eminent conductors and in the most prestigious international concert halls and theaters. Faralli also works with the "Tempo Reale" institute for music research (computer science and computer music) which is headed by Luciano Berio.
