CLARINET MASTER CLASS WITH GIOVANNI RICCUCCI

The course will focus on the study and improvement of the great solo and orchestral repertoire and preparation for orchestra auditions and competitions.

The timetable of the course will be defined by the professor according to the composition of the class.

The course provides a piano accompanist (only on request at the time of registration).

The organization reserves the right to make some scholarships available to the most deserving students upon request to the secretariat, to be assigned at the end of the course and at the discretion of the teachers.

Giovanni Riccucci graduated with highest marks at Conservatory of Livorno in 1975 under the guide of M. Del Zoppo, and then he improved his knowledge in Siena, at the famous Accademia Chigiana, and in Assisi with Karl Leister. From 1981 to 1994 he played as first clarinet in Tuscany’s Orchestra and then in the Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in collaboration with directors like Mehta, Muti, Giulini, Ozawa, Sawallisch, Bichkov, Pretre, Sinopoli, Pappano and Dudamel. He played in the Israel Philarmonic and, as first clarinet, with the Accademia di Santa Cecilia. He had an intense discographic experience: he recorded with Fonè, arts, Edipan. A.I.F. and for Materiali Sonori he played the Sequenza per clarinetto by Berio in collaboration with the author. He has always been interested in contemporary music, and he played with the Nuovo Ensemble Maderna of Adriano Guarnieri and he often collaborates with Mauro Ceccanti for the Contempoartensamble. He taught at Livorno’s and Perugia’s conservatory. Since 1988, on invitation of Piero Farulli, he teach clarinet at Fiesole Music School.
